Taking Up Space Films 2023


Taking Up Space is a film festival within the Scranton Fringe Festival that will showcase the works of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, Persons of Color) filmmakers. Documentary, narratives, animation, experimental, and all other genres of short films will be highlighted. The artistic director and curator of Taking Up Space is Dan Kimbrough. This special venture is presented by Park Multimedia, Black Scranton Project, and Scranton Fringe. The mission of Taking Up Space is to lift the voices of historically excluded racial and ethnic narratives.

The films within Taking Up Space 2023 are:

Sci-Kids (Directed by Chop Mosley, written by John Xavier Lambert, and Chelsea Scruggs).
Outcoming (Directed and written by Saliha Crespo)
Beyond Skin Deep (Directed and written by Stacey Larkins)
I Can Do Anything: A Letter to Burning Man(directed by Alba Roland Mejia)
Paris 1987 (Directed and written by Maw Delhi Yohot)
