Taking Up Space is a film festival within the Scranton Fringe Festival that will showcase the works of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, Persons
of Color) filmmakers. Documentary, narratives, animation, experimental, and all other genres of short films will be highlighted. The artistic director and curator of Taking Up Space is Dan Kimbrough. This special venture is presented by Park Multimedia, Black Scranton Project, and Scranton Fringe. The mission of Taking Up Space is to lift the voices of historically excluded racial and ethnic narratives.
