A published photographer who sees faces in the Susquehanna. A children’s book illustrator from the West Coast. A man with prosthetic hands who carried the Olympic torch. The holder of the world’s record for fastest painter. A Unitarian minister. An internet billionaire.
These are some of the artists whose stories I tell because I found pieces of their original artwork in thrift stores. I introduce the audience to their works and to their backgrounds and biographies. I share some of the correspondence I've had with some of them. A lively and intimate solo storytelling performance, with projections, about the creative arts and human beings, “SPARK Stories” paints a picture of diversity, discovery, and ideas.
I find many of their experiences jaw-dropping. I find all of the people remarkable.
