Youth Arts Coalition x Scranton Fringe Announce Spring 2026Youth Production: THE OUTSIDERS — Auditions January 12–13

SCRANTON, PA (January 2026) — Youth Arts Coalition (YAC), in partnership with
Scranton Fringe, is thrilled to announce its Spring 2026 youth theatre production: THE
OUTSIDERS
, adapted by Christopher Sergel from the classic novel by S.E. Hinton.
The production will be directed by Simone Daniel and will feature a cast of young
performers from across Northeastern Pennsylvania.


All students ages 13–18 are encouraged to audition. Students ages 11–12 may also
apply and will be considered on a case-by-case basis. All roles are open to all young
performers—regardless of gender, height, etc.


This production marks the 2nd in a special partnership between YAC and Scranton
Fringe. This past November the over thirty students were involved in a fantastic
production of HADESTOWN: TEEN EDITION.

Auditions


Monday, January 12 & Tuesday, January 13, 2026
6:30 PM – 8:30 PM
West Scranton Youth Center
1621 Washburn Street, Scranton, PA


Performance Dates


Thursday, April 16 at 7:00 PM
Friday, April 17 at 7:00 PM
Saturday, April 18 at 7:00 PM
Performance venue (Scranton, PA) will be announced in January.

Rehearsals


The January rehearsal schedule is available here.


The remainder of the rehearsal schedule will be shared in January. Unless otherwise
noted, most rehearsals will take place at the West Scranton Youth Center (1621
Washburn Street). Tech rehearsals and performances will take place at a new theatre
space in North Scranton, PA (to be announced in January).


Participation Form


Every student — even those coming from the same home — must complete the
participation form. Students should complete it ideally before auditions, or at minimum
before the first rehearsal – click here to view the form.

Safety & Student Experience


YAC and Scranton Fringe take the quality of each student’s experience — and
their safety — as a top priority. All production staff and artistic instructors
(director, stage manager, etc.) are highly qualified and have passed all required
state and federal background checks.
