PRESS RELEASE: SCRANTON FRINGE RETURNS

SCRANTON FRINGE FESTIVAL RETURNS OCT. 1–10 WITH 40+ SHOWS AND EVENTS

Media invited to Sept. 30 projection test at the Scranton Iron Furnaces

SCRANTON, Pa. – Sept. 29, 2026 – Scranton Fringe Festival returns this week for its 12th annual festival, running Oct. 1–10 at venues throughout Scranton.

This year’s festival includes more than 40 shows and events, with theatre, comedy, music, dance, storytelling, family programming and other original work from local and visiting artists.

Fringe opens Thursday, Oct. 1, and Friday, Oct. 2, with a free public celebration at the Scranton Iron Furnaces from 6 to 9 p.m. both nights.

The centerpiece of the event will be large-scale 3D projection mapping across the historic furnaces, along with additional performances and activities. The launch is presented in partnership with Valley In Motion as part of its Fall at the Furnaces series. Untapped Voices, a local community choral group, will perform during the Thursday evening event.

MEDIA PREVIEW — SEPT. 30

Members of the media are invited to stop by the Scranton Iron Furnaces Wednesday, Sept. 30, at approximately 9 p.m., weather permitting, during a test run of the projection mapping.

This will be an opportunity to capture advance photos and video, see the projections before opening night, and speak with members of the Fringe team.

Because the test is weather-dependent, media planning to attend are encouraged to contact info@scrantonfringe.org for any updates.
